Green Smoothie Hack

 

Don’t fret – this is not your average green smoothie!

This smoothie, my copycat of Colectivo Coffee’s “Green Hornet” smoothie (with a little less sugar), is one of my favorites for many reasons. First of all, it is SUPER refreshing. All of the veggies and the coconut water will give you all that hydrating goodness that you are looking for. Second, it is literally a hangover CURE. Keep on reading to find out why!

The Basics: Alkalizing foods help with gastrointestinal health, weight loss, energy levels, immunity, brain power, skin health, and much more!

Alkalizing Foods: Celery, kale, spinach, cabbage, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, lemon juice, cucumbers

The addition of ginger aids in: Digestion, inflammation, immunity, and FLAVOR!

Using coconut water helps: Improve hydration (and cuts sugar intake!)

Okay… maybe you don’t LOVE a green smoothie like this one. You like ’em sweet. Instead of coconut water, swap for apple juice for a sweeter version that packs just as much nutrition!

Green Smoothie Hack

Ingredients
  • 1 head Celery
  • 1 large Cucumber
  • 1 knob Fresh Ginger
  • 1 cup Frozen Kale
  • 1 cup Frozen Pineapple
  • 1 juiced Lime
  • 1 juiced Lemon
  • Coconut Water amount depends on preferred viscosity
  • Silicone Ice Tray

  • 1 head Celery
  • 1 large Cucumber
  • 1 knob Fresh Ginger
  • 1 cup Frozen Kale
  • 1 cup Frozen Pineapple
  • 1 juiced Lime
  • 1 juiced Lemon
  • Coconut Water amount depends on preferred viscosity
  • Silicone Ice Tray
Instructions
  1. Cut the celery and cucumber into small enough chunks to fit into the blender.
  2. Add all the ingredients, besides the coconut water, into the blender and blend until well mixed. Add coconut water as needed to create a smooth texture.
  3. Transfer smoothie mix into silicone ice tray and freeze until solid.
  4. Smoothie cubes can be stored in tray, or in storage container, in the freezer for up to one month.
  5. Whip up the smoothie in less than 5 minutes by adding frozen smoothie ice cubes and coconut water to a blender, blend until smooth and ENJOY!
